Long Weekend. Rock on.

Here's a semi-lengthy post for the lengthy weekend.

This last week I received a total of FOUR letters in the mail! From four of my favorite people! Seriously made my entire week. Why don't people write letters more?! It's the best!!! Wow! So many exclamation points! Can you tell how excited I am about letters?! Letters!!

One of these letters was from my friend Elder Benjamin Nelson. At the end of Ben's letter he said,

"So a little birdy told me that you have a blog. Well I'd better get a shout out. Just sayin. And if I don't, I'm going to be very upset with you in a few months when I check and see its not there."

So here it is, Benji. Your shout out AND a picture. See you in October, bud.

So....this was a gooood loonnnngg weeekkeenndd.

Part 1:

Friday I came down with a nasty cold but there were just too many adventures to be had on Friday to let it get me down. Me, Chylie, Lucy, Katie, Kamree and Nico joined the boys in 460 and some others for a scavenger hunt in D.I. We had to pick out items for certain categories such as "an item you would find in your grandparents house," or "the item that best represents Utah," etc. We found some treasures. Really. They had a Beauty and the Beast tea set with Mrs. Potts, and Chip. I almost cried. Then we went back to the streets of the Colony for some serious "Capture the Flag." And by serious I mean people were on rooftops and there were some serious injuries. Don't worry...when multiple people ran into parked cars, the cars got the worse end of the deal. It got kind of nuts after playing for hours.

Still beating myself up over not buying these gems of joy.

Utah in a box? YES.

On Saturday we relaxed...watched movies, read books, and then hit up 460 again. It's becoming a nightly occasion...and I wouldn't have it any other way. While there we were talking about weird holidays...for instance, Saturday was Blueberry Cheesecake day according to the Internet. We decided to make up our own holidays for this week.
Sunday: Your Mom jokes day
Monday: Talk like Snape day
Tuesday: Act like your life is a musical day
Wednesday: Cake batter waffles day
Thursday: Don't use the word "like" day
Friday: Act like Keenan Larsen day
Saturday: Change your outfit once every hour day

Feel free to participate if you want :)
 Happy Musical day, everyone!
This must be catching on because I saw a guy on campus today with his headphones in and he was singing at full volume and dancing like there was no one watching...but we were watching...and I loved it.

So on Sunday after church, Aubs and Aaron picked me up and we drove to Huntsville to go to the "Hansa Haus." Apparently that's Dutch for Hansen House or something. Anyways. I loved going to this little cabin as a kid and I still love it just as much. We were welcomed by G and G Hansen, my cousin Natalie, her friend, my cousin Josh, and 3 of his kids. We ate dinner and spent the night in true Hansen fashion. Card games. I'm getting pretty good at them if I do say so myself.
Monday, we were joined by Terri, Gene, Jer, Deeann, and Dexter. I love these people.
I kept writing down things that people were saying because...well... I am related to hilarious people. Let it be known. We ate waaayyy too much and played tons of games.
This place is beautiful.
Okay...I'm totally getting these for my future children. Giant spools of carpet. My great grandpa made them, and they're so fun. As soon as the kids went to bed, we had races walking on them and tried all sorts of tricks. So many good memories of those weird carpet spools.

Look at Ridge! Ahh. So cute. I want to keep him.

Card game score keeper. Check out the scores. Boom. Point Carlie.

It was fun to be surrounded by little kids for a change! Normally these girls are shy around me, but for some reason this weekend they couldn't get enough of me! "I want to sit by Carlie! I want to sit by Carlie!" Never got old. I loved playing with Cali and Berkeley.

The Eagle Scouts raising the flag for Memorial day.

I love this game. I've never seen anyone play it but the Hansens. There's 3 rows of pvc tubes and you throw a rope with 2 golf balls tied to the end trying to get them wrapped around the levels. I don't know what makes it so fun...but it is.

One of the golf ball ropes flung into the river and Aaron saved the day.

Check out my Grandpa. Frisbee master.

These 2. GAH. I love little Ridge and Dex.

The Nut House. "Nuts don't fall far from the tree." Enough said.

Successful weekend.

Today was a great day. I went to work, which went by super fast for some reason. I went to devotional which was great. I went to the practice rooms and messed around on the piano for the first time in a while. I came home and visit taught. Chylie and I helped Keenan fix his truck.

Went over to 460. Went with Chy, Madi, Katie, Brady, and Cade to the Utah lake where we attempted to roast marshmallows, sang songs, and told stories. It was wonderful.

Life is gooooood, ladies and gents.
17 days til I hop on a plane to Orlando...say whhhaattt?
Also...I went from 16 followers to 15. I don't know who stopped following but I'm offended. Jokes. Sort of.
Shout out to Nicolina Brown. My roommate.
Here's to cake batter waffle day tomorrow!!
